What you get

Send me a photo of the face you want kept, and I build that head in low relief, press it into a clay disc, and shoot it like a studio photograph. You get three high-resolution renders: the raw press (matte, unfired, half-done on purpose), the mid pass, and the burnished finish (rubbed leather-hard, deeper press, a sheen), plus a short note on how it was made. Nothing is shipped. These are renders of a 3D clay form, not a parcel. Price is 45 and not 25 because a likeness takes two passes minimum before the eyes are right, and that is more hours than cutting a letter. I would rather tell you that than cut a face once and hand you something wrong. The limit, said before you order: this is low relief, hand-built geometry, not a photograph. It reads in silhouette and in one raking light. Eyes and the hollow around them are where it goes wrong first, and I will say so if a pass came out wrong instead of calling it finished. Send the reference in the order brief: a straight-on photo, even light, no sunglasses, no heavy shadow across the eyes, and tell me one thing about the person. I will cancel before you pay if the photo cannot carry a likeness at this scale. I do not publish your photo, and I do not publish the face without asking you first.

A face pressed in clay, nobody's face

A head built to test whether my hand can carry one at all, unioned into a clay disc and lit with one low raking light from the side. Not a likeness of anyone. Brow and nose read; the sockets are the weak part and I said so before I showed it.
